The Denver Broncos have confirmed that linebacker Von Miller was arrested this past Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear in court on traffic violations.
Last October, Miller was cited for careless driving, driving without a license and having no proof of insurance.
He was taken into custody at the Centennial Gun Club. He was later booked and released.
The team released the following statement via Twitter:
Statement on LB Von Miller: “We have been aware of the matter involving Von Miller’s failure to appear in court for traffic violations...— Denver Broncos (@DenverBroncos) August 14, 2013
Statement continued: "...It was reported to the league earlier this week and is being handled through the legal system.”— Denver Broncos (@DenverBroncos) August 14, 2013
The warrant was issued in January and there's no indication why Miller was not arrested sooner.
Word of the arrest comes just a day before a hearing where Miller plans to appeal a 4-day suspension for violating the NFL's drug policy.
